| Everyday across North America a number of dangerous controlled products are used in the workplace. Many of these products are stronger and deadlier than their household counterparts.
Sometimes spills and exposures occur. These can have fatal or long-lasting consequences to both workers an the environment.
In order to protect workers and our planet from harm, safe handling acts and regulations have been established worldwide. Some are called Haz-Mat, some Haz-com. We have WHMIS (the Workplace Hazardous Material Information System) in Canada.
Our Controlled Products Act has been in place since 1988. This Federal Act requires that each individual provincial jurisdiction oversees the safety of controlled products used in the workplace. Training is mandatory, as is the use of safe work procedures, labelling and MSDS.
TIME: The program takes about 60 minutes to complete. A set of 10 question tests with answer keys are included.
Also included are printable wallet cards and certificates, and bonus reference materials.
