Did you know that we offer training courses? We are proud to offer several safety training courses such as Fall Protection, Confined Space, Gas Detection, Fire Extinguisher Repair and Maintenance, Ladder Safety, Respiratory, and Respiratory Train the Trainer.
Where do you hold your training courses? We have a training facility at 205-171 Commercial Drive, above our store. We can also provide private training at your location, onsite or in our facility.
How many people do you need to have to do a private class? A typical private class requires a minimum of 5 to 6 people. If you would like us to come to your location or office you would need to have adequate space. For more details about equipment and space required please confer with out trainer.
Do you ever do evening or weekend courses? Yes we do offer private classes in the evening and on weekends. We do our best to accommodate our clients and we can do this by offering private classes.
Did you know that tickets expire? That’s right if you did not already know, WCB will only accept tickets for training classes which have been taken within the last two to three years. Any courses taken longer 2 – 3 years ago, you or your staff will need to retake the course. DO NOT get caught with a ticket that WCB won’t accept, keep on top of your training requirements. If you are unclear give us a call we would be glad to help.

Confined Space Course

COURSE DETAILS:
Confined space accidents are rare, but they can have deadly consequences – fast. Workers entering an oxygen-deficient confined space can lose consciousness within a couple of breaths. Without adequate oxygen supply, a worker can die in less than four minutes. At this rate of speed, well-meaning co-workers often fall victim too – more than 60 percent of fatalities are would-be rescuers. This program gives the students the knowledge to safely enter confined spaces. Identification of hazards, atmospheric testing, respiratory protection, classification and safe entry procedures. This course is a class seminar, with demonstrations and discussions including powerpoint presentation and student handbook. Students will be required to write a short quiz (pass/fail). All students that pass will be mailed a wallet certificate.

COURSE DETAILS:
This course is intended for any personnel that will be entering, working in, providing stand-by for or monitoring confined spaces. This course gives the participant the information required to understand units of measure, sensor technology, sensor response and calibration, principals of gasses and principals of atmospheric testing. In cases where a calibration station is utilized by workers, training on the calibration station is added to the course content.
The outcome will leave the student with a clear understanding of how to accurately detect hazardous gasses using a portable gas detector, how to read and understand what the detector is indicating, and how to respond to the reading in order to maintain worker safety.
This course is one component of a confined space training program and when taken by itself is not designed to provide the skills needed to enter a confined space.

Industrial/Commercial Fall Protection Program
This full day end user program will allow you to understand the use of fall protection, as it relates to what you do at a height. Various fall protection options exist. This course will help identify which options may best meet your needs while giving you the tools and knowledge to work at height safely.
The course material is energetically delivered and includes hands-on activities, video analysis, and focuses on student participation. The course is delivered by one of our highly qualified instructors.
This course is delivered to a specific provincial regulation. Using our online endorsement service, students who possess a valid credential may register for and complete additional accreditations. These accreditations will provide you with knowledge related to a selected jurisdiction and will allow you to add multiple provincial endorsements to your fall protection certification. This endorsement service allows for increased knowledge and aids in worker mobility, requiring redundancy in training.
